• The company is focusing on many different segments of society. One of which are orphan boys and orphan girls. Many programs were done to help the orphan boys and girls. For example, giving them food, goody bags, stationery etc. The orphanages were recommended by Bangladesh Girl Guides Association. The Events for Development is also now working on getting school books for them. Photos attached.

• The other minority group are the slum children and the Events for Development is working with the slum children with help from Bangladesh Girl Guides Association to provide them whatever they need in terms of stationery, school books, food, etc. Photos attached.

• In order to tackle climate change issues, the Events for Development organized distributing hats and pullovers to the rickshaw dwellers. Almost 200 rickshaw dwellers benefitted from this program. Photos attached.

VOLUNTARY/SOCIAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

On March 4, 2023, the Events for Development team visited a school for slum children. This school was referred by Bangladesh Girl Guides Association. When they opened several years ago, they were supported by a Government project. But after the project closed, they had no support, so Girl Guides Association tries to find support for them.

There were about 80 children and 5 staff and teachers. As they love Biryani but do not get it, so we tool chicken biryani for all of them and children loved it.

The children are very smart, intelligent and can really grow if they get proper and regular support. Events for Development Events for Development is working with them and with Bangladesh Girl Guides Association to see what kind of support they require like books, uniform, etc and how much the Events for Development can help.

 

 

On March 2023, the Events for Development team also visited a second project which is a Boys Orphanage. There were about 45 Orphan boys and we took goody packs of juice, chips, Jhaal muri, biscuit, cake, Chanachur, etc etc.

They need lot of support and the most immediate support that they requested for are Punjabis for all the children for Eid. The Events for Development is discussing and will try to help them.

On March 7, 2023, the Events for Development Managing Partner visited another project which is a girls orphanage in Mirpur (Ahsania Mohila Mission).

This Orphanage was also referred to the Events for Development by the Bangladesh Girl Guides Association. The girls were very happy to see the Chair as Chair had visited them several years ago also before Covid and tried to help and support them.

As part of climate change, the Events for Development did tree plantation and gave money plant pots to them., In addition, a goody bag of chips, juice, cake, chocolate, juice, butter bun, fry daal etc was also given to each one of them. They were all very happy.

The Events for Development is working with Girl Guides Association and also with the Orphanage Management to see how regular support can be provided to ensure that they have books, uniform, food etc, whatever is required.

On May 13, 2023, the Events for Development Managing Partner visited Bashundhara and gave about 100 hat, raincoat and polythene to 200 rickshawpullers to protect them from extreme heat and rain.

The Bashundhara security got in touch with the rickshawpuller coordinator and arranged to bring them to a big land where the Bashundhara team, as well as other volunteers helped with distribution. This was part of an activity for climate change.
